Job Name On The Case Card General Tab vs. Job Name On The Order Line

In PrintVis, the Job Name that appears on the Case Card “General” fast tab can be different from a job name appearing on the individual Quote or Order version lines.

By default, when a new Case is created, Job Name from the "General" fast tab gets copied on to the "Job Name" field of the Quote or Order line.

However, users can later change the Job Name on any of the Quote or Order lines.

This way we can have a general “project name” on the Case Card, and a more specific job name below.

In fact, a lot of times job names on the Quote version lines are changed – to describe what’s changed in this particular quote option.

The moment we change the Job Name on the Quote or Order line, PrintVis enables the "manual change" warning checkboxes.

Example:

When we design Case-related documents (such as Quote Letter), we usually pull the job name from the "General" fast tab on the Case Card.

When we design Job-related documents (Job Tickets, etc.), we usually pull the job name from an “Active Order Line”, NOT from the Case Card "General" fast tab.
